This course examines how text, images, animation, audio, video and other elements of a multimedia product function together to produce meaning for an audience. Discover how individuals 'read' images, sound and movement, just as they read written language. Explore the relevance of theoretical concepts through practical exercises with either Adobe Photoshop or Jasc Paint Shop Pro. Apply principles of hypertext theory, interactivity and information design to the development of a simple Web site. Learn about the significance of multimedia technology and practice in contemporary culture. NOTE: Access to a computer with an Internet connection, audio capabilities and a CD-RW drive is a requirement for this course.
MMST11001 has another Course Site which will be updated throughout the term.
