Multimedia is a form of communication, and technical proficiency will enhance your ability to communicate through multimedia, but never substitute for a good understanding of this communications process. In this course you get to hone your understanding of this process by producing multimedia targeted at specific readers and reflecting on the way your text relates to its readers.
The course also aims to give you technical skills that will form the basis for your future studies in multimedia. Even if this is the only multimedia course you are taking, you can be confident that you will emerge with an understanding of the various technical elements that go together to make a multimedia text, good digital image processing skills and the ability to produce a web page from the ground up, without the need for any HTML editing packages.
