In 2005 I completed my PhD thesis in the Doctoral Humanities Programme at Concordia University, Montreal. My thesis is entitled Bio/Techno/Logo: Writing and the Face in the Human Machine Relation. It is an exploration of the relation between humanity and technics, using the figures of writing and the face to reflect on the entanglements of humanity and technics, biology and technology. I am a member of the Bundaberg Media Research Group, and an currently working on a number of projects within this group. More information on the BMRG can be found HERE. I am also an avid photographer, and have been exploring my environment through a 55mm eye for some years now. A photographic exploration of my time in Montreal can be viewed HERE. I also have a Flash gallery of some recent photographic work. To view this gallery, visit my personal webspace. NOTE: You will need to have version 6 of the Flash PLayer to view this file. Visit the Macromedia website to download a player plugin if you do not have it. I have also been a musician all of my life, working in both electronic/experimental and more accessible genres. My most recent work is a 6 minute sound piece entitled "Rosemont/Chabanel: Soundtrack for an Industrial Badlands". This piece was created for the Making Badlands exhibition I curated in December 2005. Click here for more. You can also listen to another project from another time; The Nietzsche Project was produced in Montreal in 1998. I play drums and samplers. |
