Personal Achievements



Being part of a family consisting of my partner Jan, Shannon (25), Miranda (23), Shona (16) and Tiana (5). Once jointly owning and managing a private retail Nursery business. Consulting with industry on a number of small projects. Using neutron diffractometer at ANSTO to determine crystallography of a new ionic conductor discovered during MAppSc work. Being awarded a PhD in Computer Science. Having so much fun doing it all.

Academic Achievements



Managing Mathematics & Computing’s $150,000 budget for part time markers and tutors from 1982 to 1989. Becoming Head of School in 2004.

Developing and managing many subject offerings in computing.

Making early use of information technology in production and delivery of material to fulltime and distance learning students.

Development of LEARNDOS. This package was distributed under a share ware license. Adopters included; some State schools. The Australian Tax Office also made an enquiry for its use.

Coordination of the BIT (Honours) program.

My research in computer graphics.
